Vintage Hand-Carved Wood & Wooden Jewelry

 During hard times people had fun making, wearing and selling wooden jewelry. Wood jewelry was popular during the early 1930s through the 1950s. This wood jewelry produced during "Great Depression" years followed by WW11, displayed some of the most creative and also most outlandish jewelry of the century. The jewelry was made, using wood beads which were often mixed with, glass, plastics and other materials, or hand carved and painted, as in some of my pieces shown below. Fashioned by both top jewelry companies and also home crafters using great imaginations, the designs seemed endless and the creativity amazing and diverse.

Vintage Wood Bangle Bracelet c.1930s-40s

Opening measures approx. 2 9/16". It has 4 brass inserts. The bangle has real character to it. Has some worn areas. But still a very unique looking piece. Two pictures below.

Three Vintage Wooden Mexican Bracelets c.1950s

All three have approx. 2 1/2" openings. The two natural wood ones are hand carved and painted. The white one is just painted. Very colorful bracelets.

 Unique U.F.O Disc Shaped Wood Bangle

Shape of this bangle looks like a U.F.O. Inside opening approx. 2 7/16". Made from one piece of wood. Nice smooth finish. Measures approx. 3/4" wide.

Antique Wood Bangle Fox Chasing Deer .c 1920s-30s

Opening measures approx. 2 9/16". All hand painted  with red Fox chasing 3 deer through forrest. Approx. 1 1/16" wide. Three pictures below. I love this old bangle.

 Vintage Wood Giraffe Necklace c.1940s

Long necklace it measures approx. 30 1/2". The cute Giraffes measure approx. 3 9/16".  Wood is all natural color with a variety of woods. The Giraffes are hand carved with painted spots. The two large colored beads are actually mosaic of three different woods (they are not painted). At one time this was strung on old string. Now it is on fish line with a remnant of old string still showing between one bead. Has old barrel clasp. If you love Giraffes you will LOVE this adorable necklace.

Wide Black Wood Bangle Brass Silver Inlay

This is a wide bangle measures 1 1/8" wide with inside opening of approx. 2 7/16". Unique looking has a geometric or hieroglyphic look to it. It looks to be a laminated wood with brass and silver inlays.

All hand carved wooden necklace. Has three big red lobsters. Measures approx. 27 1/2" end to end. Has barrel clasp and brass tone spacers. A fun necklace to wear.

Hangs on you neck approx. 24" or double it up for a shorter look. There are dark midnight blue painted beads, natural colored beads and ivory colored plastic spacers. A nice necklace. All the beads appear to be lacquered and shine.

Vintage Hand-Carved Wood Zebra Earrings

These cute 3-D hand-carved zebra earrings are approx. 2 1/2" long x  1 3/8" high to top of their heads.  They stand up so you could even use them if you like as little wooden displays. For pierced ears have gold tone fish-hooks.
